See-Through Car Doors

 

      These approaches improve driver safety and driver visibility by overcoming the visual barriers for drivers.  Primarily, changing lanes to the right is particularly dangerous because the driver’s view out the passenger windows, and rear window is so limited.  These approaches use external video cameras to photograph the surrounding scene and display on video screens inside the car, creating the effect that the side of the car is transparent.
