industrial-design exercise by Steve Hines
This was primarily an ergonomic and appearance design exercise by Steve Hines of an oscilloscope for use with component home-stereo equipment. Emphasis was on creating a clean, simple appearance while making the controls intuitive to adjust size, and vertical and horizontal position of the oscilloscope pattern, without using words which would require a separate design for each country in which the product was sold. Patterns correspond to sounds from the speakers. Designed as an independent exercise, one year after graduation from the Product Design program at North Carolina State University.
